Thank you so much for this informative video. One of our redfoots developed a severe respiratory infection and started antibiotics yesterday. I was given no instructions on how to administer the antibiotics other than "avoid his trachea, heh!" , and none at all concerning what to do about him not eating and drinking at all anymore. It was just "put out some food and let's hope he'll start eating". I read about Critical Care on Tortoise Trust and ordered it right away, and this video confirmed that it was the right thing to do. I hope it's not too late. I'm kinda stunned that I had to learn about these details (administering antibiotics with a syringe, dealing with tortoise not eating) online, but I am very grateful for the education all the same.

Can you make a new version of this video but with regards to your updated biosecurity measures? Also how do you handle fear of salmonella?

Can you further explain how your under substrate irrigation works? How do you put water into it? Do you have a drainage layer underneath? How do you get your grass to grow and look so good without your tortoises eating it all? Do you use any natural fertilizer or do you just constantly replace the grass? Wow. Amazing video. I have been similarly working with tegus for 10 years, and I have lost quite a few (recently two of my females died from a bad brumation). But the things I've learned were invaluable. Reptile keeping isn't dogs and cats. There are so many things we need to learn on our own. I have never seen anyone put themselves out there like that. I respect you alot for that. We all have had these things happen but no one talks about it.
